When every choice is dictated by a spreadsheet, the soul of the medium begins to evaporate.

AAA development has become a war of attrition. When a project consumes hundreds of millions in capital, the room for creative breathing vanishes. This financial weight forces boards to seek shelter in the familiar. They build fortresses out of established brands and proven mechanics. This is a survival strategy that often leads to the very stagnation it seeks to avoid. A safe bet is often just a slow motion disaster waiting for a market shift.

The Efficiency Paradox

Generative tools are the new logistics of development. They offer a way to bypass the slow, iterative labour of the past. There is a clear advantage here. Products can reach the market faster. Vast, complex worlds can be populated with a fraction of the traditional workforce. For the finance teams, this is a victory of optimisation.
